Open Sesame

We went to our favourite restaurant tonight, Open Sesame. If you have never been, you have to go! It is SO affordable and SO good.

New spiffy computer

Okay, so I'm officially wireless!!!!!!!!!
I can't wait to experience the freedom -- althought I love my cute yellow office, I'm excited to just take the laptop where ever in the house and surf! I am online all day -- not addicted, just interested in a lot of stuff!
I managed to not really have any blonde experiences today, but the day is still young! Hubby's sisters are coming in a few days, perhaps I should get off my behind and get their rooms ready -- ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....

The computer crashed and so did I

Okay, so I have had yet another computer problem. Last February, due to yet another blonde moment in my life, I dropped my very nice Sony VAIO laptop and it died due to internal injuries, so I had to run out and replace it.
On Saturday after hubby and I ate lunch, I decided to actually do some work, so I waltzed my new 12-lbs lighter (thanks to the South Beach Diet) body upstairs to my cute newly-painted yellow office with my nice leather office chair, and I sat down to my computer screen which was showing some computer jargon. I thought "Oh, silly thing, must have had some trouble rebooting after a restart."
So I restarted it...and it froze...so I tried again...it froze. Then I realized I was in a lot of trouble if it didn't start...so I took a deep breath and then I let out a big "BRIAN, I THINK THE STUPID COMPUTER IS BROKEN." He came running...he too restarted it (this time by the main power), and it still didn't start.
By this time I am going into mild hyperventalative (is that a word) swings. I am trying to remain calm, but it isn't working. I decide to call a new friend of ours who used to run a computer store. He happens to have the day off, and lives a block away. He says he will be over in a little while. So I clean while I wait.
Then he shows up...looks at the computer, and in under five minutes gives me the diagnosis "Um...sorry to tell you this, but your motherboard is fried, dead...done."
Me, "What do you mean? How does this happen? I'm screwed, aren't I?"
His answer, "Yup, you're hooped."
Great! So, on Saturday night, we are in Best Buy looking for a new computer, instead of enjoying a BBQ at our friends' house. I officially hate computers.
Now, I have a question for you: Why can't computers just come out of the box and work? You pay enough for them and you still have a buttload of crap to do to them. I only got the whole thing up and running yesterday. And still, my Outlook isn't working quite right. Anyway, I hate computers.
Then I wake up this morning with a NASTY migraine. Any of you that know me know that I am very prone to them, but I firmly believe that today's migraine was caused due to the fact that I hate spending this much money on something I wasn't really planning on buying, but that I need ASAP and I can't really research. AHHHHHHHHHH.....
Anyway, I slept until 1:30 this afternoon. I am feeling a little better...but not much.
And I still hate computers.

By the way, I LOVE THE SOUTH BEACH DIET :)

I will survive...right?

Well, tomorrow will have been my first week on the South Beach Diet and I've done pretty good. I didn't actually cheat until today, and that's because I was SO sick with the worst headache that I had an oatmeal cookie. The headache didn't go away. One more week, and then I will be back to more normal food! WOo HOO!

Okay, so about the school thing. I think I am really going to do it. I sent away for my transcripts from NAIT today, and I have emailed my high school about getting transcripts. I believe that women should have good educations, and I do have a good education, I just want more. It may sound totally corny, but I am hungry to learn more. Weird...I think I'm having a mid-life crisis at 24. If that's the case...and this is mid-life...I'm screwed.

Have a good night/day/morning/whatever!

Look -- our house! (Finally some pictures)

I promised pictures of our new house, and I never posted them, because I was having a blonde moment (see the name of my blog ;) ) and I couldn't figure it out again. Anyway, we are loving every minute of being home owners! It is a blast!

No sugar? Are you CRAZY??????

Okay, so I'm on week 1 of the South Beach Diet -- the first few days were okay. I survived pretty easily, followed the directions pretty good. Today is day 5, and although I'm down seven pounds in five days, I have an awful headache from carb/sugar withdrawl! I didn't realize how much sugar and carbs I enjoy every day. Seriously, this has been an enlightening time for me. It is not a low carb or low fat diet, totally different. But the first two weeks are a detox so no carbs or sugar in any form for me! All in all, though, I must say, I feel great. I haven't felt tired in the afternoons like I usually do around 3, when I want to curl up with my kitties and take a nap. But this headache needs to go away! Anyway, I know a few people that have done this, and while I'm not a big fan of diets, this is my first one ever, and I am enjoying it! I don't feel starved and I am losing weight -- love that! Also, I have been seeing the inside of my gym more frequently, which is helping too.

Anyway, enough babbling about weight stuff -- I'm thinking of going back to school. Seriously, I am. Brian and I have talked about it, and I think I am going to start taking some night classes in January. Probably in psychology -- same as hubby is in, but I just think I need to get my degree. Anyway, that's life for this blonde chicita right now!
