Well, I finally got some pictures of our house. We move in a week from tomorrow -- I am not ready. We are packing today, thank goodness it is a holiday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!

Well,

I am a whole year older today! The big 2-4! Funny...I don't feel any older.

Here is a list of things I learned in the last year:

*Cat barf is gross
*Cat pee is stinky
*Kittens are fun
*My husband will make a much better psychologist than doctor (just look at his grades)
*Flooded basements stink
*Three flights of stairs up to my apartment is brutal when I'm not used to it
*Replacing the engine of your car you only got a few months earlier is painful
*Replacing all of the tires on the car that you only got a few months earlier sucks
*Sportscars are fun...but expensive (and I miss mine...I didn't have to replace the engine or the tires)
*Lions aren't the only kitties with manes -- Squishie has one...I swear
*Watching your friends have their first baby makes you want one too
*Watching your friends' baby cry...makes you glad you don't have one yet...almost
*Holding your friends' baby when he is asleep...makes you want to hold him just a little longer
*Going to weddings of people you used to babysit makes you feel REALLY old
*24 years later...I am still terrified of Clowns
***THE NUMBER ONE THING I LEARNED THIS YEAR***
*When you are swimming in an indoor pool in the middle of winter and you see a green leaf in it -RUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN -- it is probably barf from a kid that had taco salad...again! (Ask me...I can tell you the whole story)

People...

Why is it that when you think you know someone...you don't?

The joys of home ownership and we haven't even taken possession!

Ooops, I haven't written for a long time!

This house thing can take over one's life!

So not much is new here, but buying a house is a lot of work. We signed the final mortgage documents yesterday, and then they will go to the lawyer's, and then we go to the lawyer's office to sign -- I'm glad someone out there knows what they are doing. We are just following orders.

Anyway, so we want a pot rack in our kitchen, simply because we don't have a ton of room with cupboards in the kitchen. Do you think they exist? Not at IKEA, Home Depot, Rona, Home Outfitters -- oh, wait, Home Depot had one for -- are you sitting down? AHEM -- $750??????????? That is outrageous -- but I'm pretty sure it came with a full-time butler.
Anyway, pot racks are hard to find.
And then, we went to look at furniture yesterday, like, a living room couch set ... Brian and I couldn't agree on what colour the carpet was in the living room. I thought it was slate grey with purple -- he thought it was a grey-blue. Either way -- this is the only time I'm going to say that my husband was right on a decorating issue -- it is a dark grey/blue. I can't believe he was right on this one. Now I have to eat my words!

Well, that's about it for now -- let me know if you know of a good place to get a pot rack for MUCH less than $750!
